Abrasive Blasting and Sandblasting
Dalco has over 35 years of experience in abrasive blasting and sandblasting surface preparation. Our proven systems, process and people deliver the Best Performance at the Lowest Total Installed Cost.
A common misconception regarding sand blasting, is the use of free silica. Our abrasive sandblasting processes cover both our employee, client, and environmental safety.
- Contains no-free silica, eliminating risk of silicosis
- Environmentally safe
- Fast cutting due to high durability and sharp angular to sub-angular edges
Comprehensive Surface Preparation Services include:
-
Surface Preparation via Conventional Abrasive Sandblasting
A dry abrasive is propelled against the surface to be cleaned. Upon impact of the abrasive particle, old paint, coatings, contaminates, and rust are removed. Surface debris such as rust, residual contaminants, and scale are also removed during this process. Cleanliness coupled with anchor profile are two elements of successful coating projects. Dalco works with a variety of abrasive blasting media manufacturers, ensuring the appropriate anchor profile is achieved. Whether you require the cleaning of your surface for inspections, or a specified anchor profile to maximize your coatings performance.
Dalco owns and operates 12 mobile abrasive sandblast trailer rigs. Equipped with a sandblast pot, compressor, air dryer, SABA, and fully furnished tool box. This turnkey unit allows Dalco to arrive to site and be safely set up to begin sandblasting in as little as 1 hour.
-
Surface Preparation via Robotic Steel Abrasive Blasting
o Designed to crawl along the surface of a storage tanks while being operated remotely from the ground.
o Dust Free
o Achieves desired Anchor Profile
o Vertical or Horizontal Surfaces
o Blast media is recycled, reducing abrasive disposal
o Minimal Rigging Requirements
-
Thermal Spray
o Grit blasting for thermal spray applications ensures a strong mechanical bond between the substrate and the coating by the enhanced anchor profile of the substrate material.
-
Wet Abrasive and Water-Jetting
o A wet process that is a strong alternative to dry abrasive blasting services. Common features include the ability to use extremely fine or coarse media with various densities, the ability to use hot water and soap to allow simultaneous degreasing and blasting, and elimination of dust.
-
Offsite Blasting and Coating Facilities to facilitate project deadlines
-
Asset Management Programs that fully encompass all aspects of surface preparation
-
NACE Trained Certified Supervision
o A certification geared towards experienced personnel possessing practical knowledge over multiple areas of corrosion and its control.
